Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters is a building that some call “a skyscraper on its side” and is located in Federal Way, Washington. This building tends to camouflage itself with its surrounding environments from certain angles. This is accomplished with its window placement that makes the windows seem to disappear around the foliage that is placed in front of them. From a distance this building almost looks like a normal hill covered in grasslands. Built in 1971 the building this building has acquired several awards such as the Energy Conservation Award (1973) and the National Honor Award (1972). SOM were really creative with this building and showed a way that foliage can be used to add to the appearance of a building.
