I lived my first six years of my life in Mililani Town, HI, which is located about an hour away from Honolulu. The Pearl Harbor Memorial is located in Honolulu and is an icon to Hawaiians and Americans to remember the people that lost their lives and the sacrifice that they made.

Having been born in Hawaii I personally visited this memorial twice. This was the first ever memorial that I visited along with one of the first times that I really started to learn about the history of the country. The main memorial is called the USS Arizona memorial. This unique building is built atop a sunken battleship named the USS Arizona, hence the name.
