The Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic structures of all time.  Designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel, this 1063 foot tall landmark is an international symbol.  The tower was constructed as the entrance of the 1889 World’s Fair. What is so interesting about this building is how it looks like a giant metal sculpture rather than a building. The first time I saw this building in person I was so stunned by the size of the structure. French culture has always been a part of my life and this building embodies that meaning. The Eiffel Tower is one of the greatest representations of how a building can become part of an identity of a culture.
