Art Museum- Saint Louis, MO

The Saint Louis Art Museum is one of my absolute favorite buildings in Saint Louis, which is a very high honor in my mind. The museum is grand and luxurious from any angle and seems like royalty especially in its frame of art hill and the grand basin. Initially constructed for the 1904 Worlds Fair the history of the building location is strong and true. Again, since living close by forest park and they beautiful building I cannot remember my initial sight of it, however I can think of many times as a young child I was in awe at the towering columns and sleek white stone exterior. I even remember taking senior pictures in front of the art museum and feeling as though it was a sacred place, housing hundreds of priceless pieces of artwork. I myself am quiet fond of what I consider to be roman-based architecture, and the grandness of this building is one of many that demands respect just from its design.
