The Superdome

The San Francisco 49ers play the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII at the Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday.

Evacuations Ordered As Conditions In New Orleans Deteriorate

When I first visited the Superdome I was about 10 years old and it was one of the only fully enclosed stadiums at the time. It was a really cool feeling walking onto the field and seeing how large it was. Looking up at the lights and seeing all of the seats was very overwhelming, and at that time it brought a lot of excitement to me.

Now when I see the Superdome I get a much different feeling due to what it was used for during Hurricane Katrina. I have not been inside since the hurricane, but when I drive by it I feel a sense of sadness from all that went on there. While it is still an awesome building, there is also more meaning to it now than there was before.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Before I had the chance to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral I had heard many things about it. I am Catholic so people had always told me about how beautiful it is and created a lot of hype over it. When I finally had the chance to see it in person I was blown away by not only how beautiful of a place it was but also by how powerful of a feeling it created. It really made me appreciate being Catholic, and the building itself created a very strong sense of tradition towards the Catholic faith. There was so much to look at and embrace that it left me speechless.
