Lou Ruvo Center

architecture-1

Although this building would catch anyones eye naturally, because of its abnormal features and structure. This building was designed by the world renowned architect Frank Gehry. This  funky looking building was very impactful to me when I first saw it. The reason for it being so impactful to me has little to do with the architecture of the actual building and more so with the story with this building.

This building was created to help fight against brain disease. The Cleveland Clinic is operating out of this building to help cure Alzheimers. This is particularly meaningful to me because i personally am impacted by this specific disease. Alzheimer’s runs in my family and my grandma has essentially lost her capability to think like an adult because of the disease. So, to see a cool different building like this one and to associate it with such a horrible thing like brain disease, makes me feel very good about what this building represents.

The Home of Markus Persson

architecture

Pictured above is a piece of architecture that just recently finished completion in the last five years. This is house that was designed for and purchased by the creator of Minecraft, Markus Persson. This beautiful home sits in the luscious hills in prime location of Beverly Hills, California. The owner of the house, Persson, outbid pop culture icons Jay-Z and Beyonce for this luxurious spot.

Two summers ago I went on vacation with my mom and some family friends where we visited California for the first time. While visiting, we went and did all the tourist things Los Angeles had to offer. That includes going on a tour on one of those big double decker buses and checking out all the beautiful homes in Beverly Hills. While on this tour, we saw some very beautiful homes and homes of some celebrities, which I thought was very neat. Some of the celebrity’s homes were Katy Perry, David Spade, Ozzy Osbourne, Kat Von D, and many more. Of all the beautiful homes in Beverly Hills though, this particular home stood out to me without a doubt. For those that have ever visited Beverly Hills and seen dome of those mansions on the side of the mountain you can comprehend how insane it must have been in order for it to stand out from all the rest.
