The last Perkins and Eastman creation I thought was incredible was the Lekhwiya Sports Complex. This stadium to me was amazing and it is some place I would love to attend a game in this complex. It is the new home of the Qatar’s premier football team, Lekhwiya Club. I love the elegance of this complex and how it just looks like the program bring power. They are soon to add on an indoor complex and a olympic swimming pool to be more versatile for the players and more. This is built so well because not only will the players bring in fans but this stadium alone will bring more fans due to it’s incredible design.

Shandong University is located in Jinan, China on the Yellow Sea, overlooking Aoshan Bay and is their new Qingdao Campus which has 25,000 students. The point of designing such a modern university was to bring the university into the 21st century and help improve their international presence. I love how this university is right on the Yellow Sea and it really embraces the modern look that university buildings have been building in this century. I also love how it provides a pedestrian environment with how everything in located in this area with different sectors. I love how there is water surrounding the campus as well as long grass lawns, it is always much nicer to attend a university that is also beautiful.

Chongqing Library- Perkins Eastman

Another Perkins Eastman building that caught my eye was the Chongqing Library in Chongqing, China. I love the all glass look with different shapes as the building connects and the pond view from the glass. They wanted to modernized the traditional Chinese courtyard and they provided scenic views from cafes and reading rooms. This library is 540,000 square feet making it a huge space for many to come study and access the library and their technology. I think when buildings have glass walls, it is a more welcoming place. I think more people want go there for a big open view and its peaceful. Having natural light is something I have always admired about a building.

These are residential buildings in Gurgaon, India. These villas caught my eye because I love the modern look they have to them. I have seen buildings like these in California but you do not see a lot of these kind of buildings in Oklahoma. These types of villas are my favorite and I really enjoying looking at different types around the world since my goal is to move to another country when I graduate and have the money. Something I have enjoyed while researching Perkins Eastman is how they have buildings all around the world and all of them are very modern and luxurious and it has been fun to look at what all they have created.

Sun City Ginza East- Perkins Eastman

This is the Sun City Ginza East building that is located in Japan. This building is a 32 story retirement community. This building has six stories as a podium with public space and then on top of that has 134 rooms of nursing specific floors and then 276 independent living apartments on 24 floors. Then on top there is a two-story Harbor view restaurant and Ginza Bar. I found this building so interesting since it is a retirement building which you never see as such a sleek, large, smaller scale of a skyscraper. I think this can appealing to people who are resistant to wanting to move into retirement communities and I think that other countries can start moving towards this in certain cities if they haven’t already.

Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas- Perkins Eastman

This hotel stood out to me mostly because of the location. I would love to visit Abu Dhabi one day and this hotel is very luxurious but I love the vibe it sets for a vacation. Perkins Eastman was my architecture firm that was assigned to me and they have building designs all over the world. This was the first hotel that was built on this island. I really enjoy the how the villas walk directly out to the beach with their private patios and unqiue pools to relax in. According to Perkins Eastman’s website, they describe this as “blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors” and I could not agree more with that statement. It is a stunning hotel and the design could not be more perfect for this island to vacation.

Frost Bank Tower

I go to Austin, TX roughly about four times a year. It is my favorite city and the Frost Bank Tower always stands out to me. This tower is so unique and it stands above the rest in Austin. I love the top of the building with the shaded layers and the pointed tops. Its such a beautiful building to see while driving in and even at night how they still light up the unique top of their building to make sure it is always glowing.

Gold Dome Oklahoma City

Growing up in Oklahoma City, this is a building that I will always remember. I actually have never been inside but I would drive past this every weekend on my way to my grandparents house for years and years. I remember when I was really young like age 5-9 I would call window seat just so I could look at the dome while we drove by. The gold really makes a statement in Oklahoma City and that is one that has always stuck with me.

Hofburg Palace

When I visited Vienna this was one of my favorite building among the many to see there. I think I am drawn to building that are formed into the shape of an arc. I really enjoy how it emphasizes how large these old Europe building are and it always amazes me how there is just nothing like this in the United States. I like the teal touches as well and the gold. This palace was so incredible to me and how it still stands so strong today.

Hungarian Parliament Building

I would have to say that this might of been my favorite building to see in my life so far. I love the how this building look from all angels, day and night. I saw the building while I was on a river cruise in Budapest at sunset and it took my breath away. I love buildings with the burnt orange and white contrast. I also love the pointed tops on this building. My favorite thing might be how it reflected onto the water and especially at night when it is lit up.
