I was 15 years old when I had the opportunity to study abroad in France. I spent one month there and it would take a lot more than a month to visit all the different sites. One of the last days we made a trip to Paris to see the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower.

As I came out of the Louvre I saw this gigantic leg ascending down from the sky. Pictures do not do this piece of architecture justice, it is absolutely massive. We had the opportunity to talk the stairs all the way to the top which you do not have the opportunity to do anymore, they only allow you to do about half way up. The view was almost as majestic as the structure itself. To think that you were standing on one of the most iconic pieces in all of the world is a quite overwhelming experience.

This castle was built in 1886 so it is fairly new in terms of castles. This is the castle that Disney land was modeled after. This castle is placed on the top of a hill for military reasons, so getting to the top is a task of its own. I can remember the exact distance of the trek but it was a good hour walk through a thick forest, luckily there is a concrete path that takes you right to the top. As I reached the top you could see the enormously tall steeples emerging from the trees, and almost immediately after we were looking at amazement with this breathe taking sight of castle, and the valley beneath. It’s hard to put into words, the emotions that one feels when you stand in front of a piece of architecture like that. From its huge courtyards, to its tall winding staircases that take you to the top of the lookout tower this was by far the most amazing place, and piece of architecture I have ever seen.
