Oklahoma State Capitol

As a child I found the state capitol building to be the most interesting out of all buildings that I have seen, mainly because of the size, but also because of the area inside looking up at the dome with all of the pictures and different colors.  And now later in life I find myself with the desire to pursue an occupation in politics and hopefully hold a position in this building.  This desire has brought a different interest in the building, but also a better understanding of the meaning of what it represents, and the different things inside of it.

My favorite thing about it in the present day is the ability to notice different things about it with each visit that you had never noticed before.

Chisholm Trail Heritage Center

Growing up in a smaller town sometimes make you appreciate the small things a bit more.  The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center could be considered one of the “small things” because even though it isn’t the biggest, or fanciest building, it was still something that as a kid you could look forward to going to on field trips and it was still a great learning experience.  With various expansions throughout its existence in attempts to offer new material it is definitely a great place to visit if ever passing through Duncan.
