Sarkeys Energy Center

As a freshman coming into college, I had no idea what to expect when I found out one of my classes was in Sarkeys Energy Center. It’s safe to say that I did not enjoy the walk there and back from the dorms every week. It was a bad experience on the first day, because I thought it was Sarkeys by the Huff. Other than hating the location, when I first walked up to the building, I thought it had a unique figure because of its height and the different entrances it had. The inside was confusing, but now that I’m used to it, this is a place I can go to when I need to study and relax. It’s definitely a building I will never forget as I’m sure I’ll have another class there in the near future.

Chesapeake Energy Arena

My experiences at the Chesapeake Energy Arena have all involved Thunder basketball. When I was younger, I had a taste of what it was like cheering for an NBA team when we hosted the New Orleans Hornets for two seasons after Hurricane Katrina. When the Thunder were established as our permanent team, I attended the team’s inaugural game and it was one of the most remarkable atmospheres I had ever been a part of. A sold out crowd cheering on for the city’s team in this arena can make you smile within seconds.

After that first game, I became hooked. I’ve gone to countless games since, and the feeling never gets old being in that type of ambiance. The Chesapeake Energy Arena will always be a part of some of my greatest memories. Hopefully we win a championship soon and the entire state of Oklahoma will go nuts.
