JP Morgan Chase Tower

The JP Morgan Chase Tower is located in Houston, Texas and was designed by architect I.M. Pei. The building’s exterior has grey granite cladding surrounding the reflecting windows which that gives it that distinctive look. Out of the seventy-five floors there is a sky lobby observation deck located on the 60th floor which serves as a public observatory. The building also has an express elevator that lets you see a panoramic view of the Houston city that I think is pretty fascinating.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio and rises above the shore of Lake Erie. It was established April 20, 1983. The building was designed with a combination of bold geometric forms and dynamic cantilevered spaces which are anchored by a 162-foot tower. There is a triangular shaped glass that is extended at the base of the building. I.M. Pei designed the building hoping to bring a landmark to Cleveland, Ohio and to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The design of the building was a very unique structure to be put along Lake Erie which I think makes it stand out so much more with its creativity that went into it.

Mesa Laboratory

Was designed by I.M. Pei in 1961 and completed in 1966. The laboratory is located in Boulder, Colorado along the Flatirons hill on the Table Mesa. The building has a pinkish resemblance to blend in with its surroundings. I extremely love delicacy that went into the design that gives it that maze like structural feel with all of the geometric shapes that the structure has. This is a very unique building due to the fact on how well it forms in with the environment around it which is what I really like most about it.

John Hancock Tower

The John Hancock Tower is located in Boston, Massachusetts and is designed by I.M. Pei. It is the tall narrow glass structure that cant be missed. The building has a very high tint to it which resembles a slight blue to match with the sky, also reflecting the buildings that are surrounding it which is breathe taking to see just based on its reflection alone. The structure of the floor plan has a parallelogram shape for which gives the tower its modernist look. I really love this design because it has that very sharp and modern look to it that I really like.

Louvre Pyramid

The Louvre Pyramid is known as the landmark of Paris. It is a beautiful well designed pyramid by I.M. Pei which dates back to 1989. The height of the pyramid is 71ft that consist of 603 rhombus shaped and 70 triangular glass segments within metal poles. Surrounding the large pyramid is three similar but smaller pyramids. There is also six triangular shaped water fountains around the largest pyramid that look remarkable at night from the glare of the pyramids lights shimmering off of the water. If there is any place on earth that I want to ever go visit, this is the first on my list because I really love the glass architecture that is throughout this design. I’am always fascinated by lights that I think is uplifting in some architecture. I think that they bring out the beauty in a lot of the things that we create.

Bank of China Tower

Designed by I.M. Pei this building was once the tallest building in Hong Kong and is now the fourth tallest but yet still is the most identifiable landmark today because of its quiet distinctive looks. I love the edges of the design which gives it the sharp look due to the triangular shapes that are along the building which seem as thought they are similar to large X shapes. The lines on the outside of the building also give it that vibrant look as they light up at night. The design also resembles growing bamboo shouts which are symbolizing likelihood and prosperity.BankofChina_Ext-Main_(c)LeslieERobertson 731c0611c83fb5bda589d7fa2f6a1790 93_big

Myriad Botanical Gardens

The Myriad Botanical Gardens is an extremely beautiful place! If it is either glancing by on your daily commute or even stopping to scour throughout the gardens, one would say that the moments you get being there, are practically a magical experience. The gardens is enriched in a true lavishing beauty of the many things on earth ranging from palm trees, tropical plants and flowers, waterfalls, and even exotic animals. The gardens is located in Downtown Oklahoma City, Ok right across from the Devon Tower, that is impossible to miss. Remarkably, the environmental feel that is spread throughout there makes me feel so astonished from the work that has went into place to make as though everything comes to life. Being there especially during the holiday seasons brings that uplifting joy that we all have hidden inside of each and everyone of us. Also, the gardens is a great spot when looking for pokespots for each and every pokeplayer! I get excited going there each and every time because I’am dazzled by every visit. Furthermore, what is art without having any glistening lights to set off creativity of any architecture at night.

Bizzell Library

The Bizzell library is one of my favorite places of all time. When I come into this place it gives me that feeling that whatever I go in there to do, I can accomplish it with no problems whatsoever. This building is so beautiful inside and out, especially the harry potter room which is freaking awesome! What I love most is the architecture on the outside of the building when you first walk in. I look up every time to see the art that makes you think just how creative some people can really be by their ideas which is pretty inspiring. I get the most positive vibe each and every time that I’am there. Sometimes at night when I stay inside of the library till midnight or later I walk outside and just look back toward the building to reflect on why I spend the amount of time that I do inside of this place. At many of those nights I will sit on the bench out in front or stand back and look at the detail that went into this place which helps give me a more positive attitude to being creative and more open to my thoughts in the process. This is a great reminder to myself of the many reasons to why I attend OU and that I will make the most out of being here. The way this building makes me feel by the beauty and creativity of it, is the reason why this will probably be my most favorite building of all time.

Chesapeake Finishline Tower

The Chesapeake Finishline Tower is such a remarkable building. It is 60 feet high with 7,500 square feet of space that has four levels which was designed by Oklahoma architect Rand Elliott. This building is in Oklahoma City along side of the North Canadian River. I absolutely love how the building has 12-foot high windows and an observation deck that is panoramic to the river so that spectators can watch the canoeing and kayaking races. I find this building to be so fascinating because looking at it gives that modern feeling that I love seeing in todays work of art. It is truly breathtaking to see this place at night because it is overwhelmingly lite along side of my other favorite building. I feel as though the art that went into designing this helps set off the boat district and brings so much more to the Oklahoma City area.

Devon Boathouse District

The Devon Boathouse District is home of the Oklahoma City University Rowing and Canoe/Kayak, also headquarters for the OKC National High Performance Center. Its architecture is just extremely gorgeous knowing that it was created by glass and polycarbonate walls which are flooded with natural light. During nightfall on the two-story windows you can see a blue LED glow that just brightens up the river and its surroundings. The construction for the building began in the early 1990’s along the side of the North Canadian River that runs through the Oklahoma City area. The boat house was completed in 2010 and has since been a part of the of the U.S Olympics which I find to be very inspiring as I love being active so much. I love running past this place along the river especially during sunset and see the building lite up. This building is another one of my favorite due to the fact that it is my favorite color, but also one that seems to be very well thought out.
