In March of 2016, I visit New York City for the first time and was instantly amazed by the many skyscrapers in the city’s skyline. One building that I most enjoyed was the Empire State Building.
Construction on the Empire State Building began in March of 1930 and ended in April 1931. The building’s art deco style architecture stands nearly 1,454ft into the Manhattan skyline. From the end of construction the Empire State Building was the tallest tower in the world until 1970 when World Trade Center was built.
The interior of the Empire State Building is complimentary to the art deco style architecture of the building. My favorite part about visiting the Empire State Building was the feeling of traveling back in time to the 1930s due to the building’s decor. The view of Manhattan from the 86th floor was the cherry on top of this iconic piece of architecture.
