Chesapeake Energy Arena

I have had some of the best and worst times of my life in the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Growing up in Oklahoma City, I was able to see the Hornets play as a little kid, and continue to cheer for the Thunder. I have also seen multiple concerts and separate events in this arena as well. It was opened on June 8th, 2002 and has a capacity of 18,203. It was known as the Ford Center from 2001 to 2010, and then changed to the Chesapeake Energy Arena in 2011. This place is special to me because I have seen so many great basketball games there, and experienced the vibrant OKC crowd who is as dedicated and committed as any NBA franchise. It was also special to me because it was Oklahoma Cities first arena that could truly hold a professional franchise, without the building there would have never been a Thunder team.
