The Riverbend Music Center is an outside amphitheater that is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It runs along the banks of the Ohio River and has the capacity to hold 20,500 people with a mixture of lawn seats and reserved seats. The Riverbend Music Center was designed by architect Michael Graves and opened in 1984. This amphitheater was constructed to give the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra an outside venture to play at during the summer. However, it is now used for all kinds of concerts and performances. When the Riverbend Center first opened in 1984, it was one of only 16 outside amphitheaters in the United States. The cost of construction for the Riverbend was 9 million dollars and it spreads across nearly 15 acres of land.
