This summer I interned at Richardson Communications and Consulting. RCC’s office was this fascinating building. It was built in 1903 and renovated in 2015 by the owner of RCC. I think old buildings are fascinating, especially when you can put modern touches on them to make it workable for today. The owner worked with the McKinney historic society to ensure that she was staying with the integrity of the building.

For some reason, this building makes me think of an early 1900s factory. I love it because I feel like I’m a part of history. RCC is a technology company so I think it’s great that they juxtapose old and new.

This building reminds me of the first skyscraper from a video we watched in class about 10 important buildings in America. It doesn’t look much like the Wainwright Building, but the vertical lines remind me of it. This building made me think about the longevity of architecture and how it can transport us back in time.
